Supporting an outstanding student

Our second contribution was assisting a girl, who had achieved outstanding marks on a nation wide high school exam in Nepal, despite working as a domestic helper to someone in Kathmandu.  She came from a poor Tamang family and was unable to continue her studies.  Our board member, Sushma Tamang, discovered this by reading a local newspaper.  We immediately, helped the girl with one academic year with the tuition at a local college.  Soon after, she was met by the prime minster of Nepal, who was willing to help her educational endeavor from the government level.  This is an example that our support goes to a genuine cause.

The cost of the tuition fee for this student was US $ 300.00
