Promoting Tourism in the Lower Everest Region
The HED Project has committed to generating awareness and promote the Solu or Lower Everest region of Nepal as a trekking destination. We are working with local officials to promote this unique area as a trekking destination for westerners. This will help provide opportunities for the inhabitants of this area both in job creation and financial stability. World renowned sherpas, the driving force of trekking and climbing activity comes from Sherpa, Tamang and other ethnic groups of this area.
HED Project acknowledges that they don't only deserve simply a job in trekking industry but their own villages have great potential to be developed as tourist attractions. To make this happen, we are planning a presentation to the trekking professional from the area in which we will plead for the area be declared as Lower Everest Nature Reserve. We believe that this will help preserve the diverse nature and culture of this area together develop a sustainable tourism. Initial expenses expected: Presentation / Gathering $ 500.00 for renting equipment and high tea for 100 people.
