Jana Priya Community Library, Tapting, Solukhumbu

In less than 3 months of HED's establishment, we have achieved some extraordinary results.  Our first educational project was to establish a community library at Amber's home village Tapting, Solukhumbu—the  lower region of Mt. Everest.  We furnished the library room in the building provided by Jana Priya Secondary School.  We collected some 300 books useful to Nepali students on various topics and transported them to the library in last July .... when the library was officially opened.  Along with the books, we contributed stationary supplies to the school children and teachers.

The cost of the library project was US $ 3000.00
